Hong Kong Wetland Park (HKWP), Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Hong Kong SAR Government, is committed to safeguard the privacy of individuals with respect to personal data. We therefore make sure that our policies and practices in relation to the collection, use, retention, transfer and access of personal data comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486) under the laws of Hong Kong.

Information Collection and Use 

• HKWP collects information from wetland centres or participating schools which participated “Inter-school Education Programme”. HKWP may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from you via other media format. 

• HKWP uses information for the following general purposes: to customize content you see, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients. 

• We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with the HKWP under confidentiality agreements. These organisations may use your personal information to help the HKWP communicate with you about updates from the HKWP. However, these organisations do not have any independent right to share this information. 

• We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; 

• We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of HKWP terms of use, or as otherwise required by law. 

• We limit access to information about your wetland centre to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide you or in order to do their jobs. 

• We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with laws of Hong Kong to protect personal information about you.
